White Balance points to metaphorical implications of photographic techniques — white balance, exposure, the Zone System — to explore themes of racial imbalance, history, and societal perception. The work is arranged according to the light pattern in the exhibition space, and lifts the halftone screens from Ansel Adams’s Zone System, layering them with a ‘White Balance’ exposure.
