Subject to Change

Subject to Change is a three-channel video installation that explores the concept of home through everyday rituals and objects. It results from my two-year investigation into the meaning of home and family bonds.

The installation consists of three single-channel videos:

1. Breadcrumbs: A mesmerizing display of 200+ pounds of breadcrumbs falling continuously for eleven minutes, creating a growing pile that symbolizes the accumulation of daily family life.
2. Milk: Twenty gallons of milk pour into a large glass container, overflowing its boundaries in a monumental representation of nourishment and abundance.
3. Dishes: 150 white ceramic plates are hurled against a stone wall, shattering upon impact and alluding to destruction and renewal within domestic life.

As a result, seemingly mundane objects and actions become powerful symbols of familial rituals, nourishment, and the ever-changing nature of home. This work invites viewers to reflect on their own domestic experiences and the significance of everyday moments in shaping our understanding of home and family.
